Leading to class IV Mechanical Engineer Officer Certificate of Competency, Awarded by the ministry of shipping, government of india, after six Months of sea service. This enables the cadets to become marine Engineers on board merchant naval ships worldwide. |

Candidates should be medically fit for sea service under standard norms, with eyesight 6/12 both eyes or 6/9 in better eye,6/18 in other eye, and with no colour blindness |
