  Approved by The Director General of Shipping, Ministry of Shipping, Government of India.Leading to Second Mates Foreign-going Certificate of Competency awarded by the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India, after 12 months of sea service. This enables the cadets to become Navigating Officers on board Merchant Naval Ships worldwide.  
     
  Entry Requirements for the Course :  
     
 
 Age Limit 17 to 20 years at the time of entry
 Qualifications A pass in 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as separate subjects, with a PCM average of not less than 60%, and minimum 50% in English at 10th or 12th Standard
 Medical  Standard Candidates should be physically fit for sea service under standard norms, with eyesight 6/6 in better eye,6/9 in other eye and with no colour blindness.

FIRST YEAR - Fees can be paid in two installments.
First installment during admission and the second on or before Jan 05, 2008. (including Boarding & Lodging)

Note : At the time of joining, candidates should be in possession of uniforms, as per list provided by the Academy, Books and drawing equipment will be provided by the Academy. 1. Cost of those items would be of Rs.15,000, which is to be paid by cash to AMET per year along with the fees, 2. One time Refundable Caution Deposit of Rs.5,000/- to be paid on selection.
