AMET celebrated its 13th Anniversary with great pomp and show on the 24th of February 2006.This year, TIDALWAVE ’06 was different with staff and families as well as cadets taking to the stage. Mr.K.S Padmanabhan, from the Fleet Management Limited was the Chief Guest for the evening.
The day started at 15:00hrs with games organized for the staff and their families. There was active participation from all staff members and their families. Games like Needle and Thread, Lemon and spoon, Sweet eating, Tug of War were organized. Our CEO & Director Capt.Bharadwaj also actively participated. There was an event “Musical chair” exclusively for the ladies.
What followed was the stage performances by the staff and families. It started on a holy note with Master Naveenkumar, son of Chief Engg. Mohandass reciting the “ Suprabhatam”. There were staff members who sang to the tunes of latest Tamil songs and dances by their children.
The Chairman along with the Chief Guest for the evening Mr.K.S.Padmanabhan distributed the prizes for AMET SPO-06, Staff Cricket, Round 1, Athletics team and BIT Cultural team, Paper Presentation, etc. This just shows that AMET is brimming with talents. After this, the cadets took the stage. The cadets formed their own Band and sang to the tunes of “Winds of Change”, “Cuts Like a Knife”, "Koi Kahe Kehta Rahe” and many more songs. As the night befell, there were stunning dance performances by all the batches. The BE 2 and BSc 2 performed for the last time on stage, and kept the audience on their toes with their scintillating dances. The dual cadets also had a freestyle dance, which was mind-boggling. The dances left the audience asking for more.
The night was still young when DJ Harry took over. The cadets then partied their way till the wee hours of the morning. It was indeed a splendid night and thanks to the BE 2 and BSc 2 batches, who have organized the wonderful event, TIDAL WAVE ’06.
