Capt. S. Bhardwaj CEO AMET , Chennai was invited to present a paper and address the gathering on the subject of “Compliance Enforcement and Monitoring for Environmental obligations” About 80 Master Mariners from all over the world participated . Latest issues pertaining to the shipping industry were discussed at length. IFSMA has consultative status with IMO and CAMM with US Coast Guard, resolved to continue playing very active role in policy making for the benefit of the seafarer. Capt. Bhardwaj’s paper was very well received at this high profile gathering and some of the feedback received were as below :-           1. Capt. Gregory M. Tylansky (CAMM) I had quite skeptical feelings about these new environment regulations and USCG etc. But after listening to you I have changed my full perception. 2. Rod Short – Sec. Gen AMITIAP Excellent presentation. Your knowledge levels in the subject is very high. 3. Capt. Edwin Tut – Burma Your style of presentation is very appealing 4. Roger Macdonald – Sec. Gen IFSMA Excellent Suresh. We discuss a lot about this in IMO. 5. Julian Parker – Nautical Institute , UK What you say is right. It is the behaviour change that is critical to the issue. Incentives and subsidies for ENV are needed initially, before it gets more universally accepted as a culture. I am with the Green Awards foundation in Netherland and I appreciate all that you said today. 6. Capt. Akatsuka Koich – Deputy President IFSMA Very good presentation. Let us join together and increase the Asian representation in IFSMA. 7. Capt.
